Project facts and reusable resources

Six detailed comparisons examine how open initiatives connect project descriptions, evidence, downloads and enquiry routes. OTI proposes a maintained source for its public facts and a record of the version, scope and rights of each resource.

Selected findings

Routes through project resources

The inspected systems connect explanations, evidence, identity files and contact routes in different ways. The comparison follows specific reader tasks.

Terms for individual materials

Software, writing, images, fonts and data can have different reuse terms. A software licence does not automatically cover every resource.

Dates attached to claims

A page modification date does not establish when each statement was checked. The study distinguishes editing from source verification.

From evidence to design

OTI proposals

Oversized opening quotation marks frame three labelled strips: Version, Scope and Rights. This original composition illustrates the context needed to reuse a project fact; it is not an attributed quotation.
Conceptual resource labels for version, scope and rights, illustrating the proposed maintenance record.

Descriptions from maintained records

Derive reusable descriptions and current software references from the same maintained facts.

Individual resource details

Place the preview and download formats beside the resource version, purpose, credit and applicable terms.

Correction and replacement

Record corrections, replacements and withdrawals. Confirm that a contact route is monitored before offering it.
